Heritage Independent Living is much more than a business – it is a passion to do the right thing – to find carers and companions who we would feel comfortable looking after our own parents, for the benefit of others.

What’s different and why us?

Tailored

Wouldn’t it make sense that if you liked gardening, then your carer / companion was knowledgeable and liked gardening too? We think so and hence that is why we go out of our way to understand the client’s exact needs and not only find the carer with the right experience but one that has a compatible outlook in life – where common interests might include: animals/pets, theatre, opera, gardening, cricket, excursions (for example, where a carer as a car driver could help with visits to stately homes, garden centres and trips to the countryside).

We also appreciate that it is a difficult decision to choose the right care solution and that you need time to understand all your options. We are available to chat and help you come to the right conclusion and we are always willing and flexible to help you tailor a solution.

Long Term

We do our very best to ensure you get the best person for you and your lifestyle and then we do our utmost to get that person to stay with you.

This may seem like an obvious approach but it is not what drives many of our competitors – in fact some will only commit to placing one carer / companion for a maximum of 3 weeks.

Meet the Team

Sara

Sara combines her nursing background with her extensive recruitment expertise to the benefit of both Heritage’s clients and the carers who are introduced.

A qualified RGN, Sara worked in the NHS for 7 years before moving into nursing recruitment, and has remained in recruitment, within various sectors, for the past 20 years.

Nick

Nick helped co-found Heritage Independent Living and is passionate about helping people in later years achieve a high quality of life.

When Nick’s parents started making plans to stay in their own home “at any cost”, he appreciated how traumatic change could be later on in life.

Rachel

Rachel was brand custodian for two leading investment banks, overseeing global marketing campaigns and executing briefs to match the requirements of senior bankers.

Her varied project management experience and meticulous attention to detail help ensure that the carers introduced to Heritage are of the highest calibre and the best fit possible for any individual client’s needs.

Heather

After obtaining her law degree from Oxford University, Heather practiced law for many years. Following a career break to raise her family, Heather has been a recruitment consultant with Heritage for the past 2 years and uses her excellent communication skills and attention to detail to ensure a rigorous vetting procedure when registering carers working in a self-employed capacity. In her spare time, Heather enjoys volunteering with the Wandsworth charity “Little Village”, swimming, yoga and spending time with her family.

Claire

Claire gives all manner of administrative support to recruitment consultants and provides an important source of information for Carers wanting to work effectively for Heritage’s clients. Claire provides an extra level of resource to make sure all carers are vetted to the same high level of attention to detail.

Previously Claire worked as a recruitment consultant placing maternity nurses with high profile clients – a similar environment to Heritage, where acting discretely and protecting client confidentiality is of high importance.

Niki

Niki works alongside Rachel to introduce carefully selected carers to her clients. She has great empathy for both clients and carers and uses this to match clients with caring individuals. Her previous experience includes 30 years in Client Service, Recruitment and Negotiation.

Louise

Louise is the first point of contact for carers interested in working via Heritage; dealing with the registration of suitable candidates. Previously, Louise worked as a Solicitor specialising in all aspects of Family Law, her empathy, excellent communication skills and attention to detail ensure that the carers introduced by Heritage have been thoroughly vetted and are of a high calibre.

Gail

Gail ensures that the accounting function runs smoothly and effectively and that payment for our services is as easy and hassle free as possible. She prides herself on providing a personal and professional service. Gail is a fully licensed and regulated AAT FMAAT Fellow Member in Practice.

Gail has over 20 years’ experience and has worked with a wide variety of businesses where customer service is paramount.

Kellie

Kellie assists Gail within the accounts department and is the main point of contact for all account related queries. Kellie brings along over 5 years of customer service and administration experience and is now studying AAT in the early years of her bookkeeping and accounting career.

Mel

Melanie is a freelance copywriter who creates fresh weekly content for the blog section on the Heritage website. Her blogs focus on a broad variety of topics relating to elder care and aging. Melanie is an environmentally conscious individual who is passionate about well-being and healthy living.

Katie

Having recently graduated from the Digital Mums course Katie is now using her marketing background to help Heritage engage more extensively with caring individuals on Social Media.

Amanda

Amanda ensures that the company’s IT functions well and its processes are compliant to the latest legislation.

Amanda has nothing but admiration for the job that the NHS has done in helping her mother come through a prolonged state of critical illness. Accepting the NHS’s financial constraints, she is determined to support her parents with an optimum long term care solution and use this experience to help others in similar circumstances.
